Kumi District has successfully conducted a crucial budget conference to establish clear priorities for the financial year 2025/2026. The event, held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, under the theme "Full Monetization of Uganda's Economy through Commercial Agriculture, Industrialization, Expansion and Broadening of Services, Digital Transformation, and Market Access," gathered heads of departments, political leaders, and development partners to drive meaningful progress. During the conference, department heads presented their budget priorities, explicitly outlining both funded and unfunded needs. Joseph Okaali, the district planner, underscored the significance of this conference in the budgeting cycle, asserting that the forthcoming budget will decisively focus on achieving the National Development Plan IV's goal to "achieve higher incomes and elevate household welfare." Okaali outlined five specific objectives that will guide the Development Plan: 1. Enhance value addition in key growth opportunities. 2. Strengthen private sector capacity to drive growth and create jobs. 3. Consolidate and improve the stock and quality of productive infrastructure. 4. Elevate productivity and inclusiveness, thereby improving the well-being of the population. 5. Reinforce the state's role in development, backed by targeted programs. Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Martin Okello made it clear that stakeholder participation is vital. He commended all participants for attending this pivotal conference and emphasized the importance of adhering strictly to guidelines in budget preparation. Okello insisted that all departments must respect timelines to ensure that all processes are completed efficiently and on schedule. Kumi District Chairperson Nelson Elungat Lakol addressed the attendees with a strong message, thanking them for their commitment. He highlighted the conference's critical role in serving the people of Kumi District and called on development partners to identify unfunded areas and deliver the necessary support without delay.      stakeholders during the budget confrence on 30th October 2024
